2009 Christmas Party - 12/13/09

by Bill Myrick - Sunday 12/13/09, Branson Community Center. A "first" for this annual event ; a pot luck dinner with all taking part. When in the planning stage, I recall some (who evidently had not attended too many pot lucks) worrying about if enough and a variety of food would show up. WOW ! Question answered !!!

I was estimating maybe 80 to 85 in attendance, I see Hank was saying 100 on his site and he may be closer, but for sure a day to remember for The Association!

Jerry & Venda Hanley opened with their wonderful annual Christmas presentation.

Bob & Jerri Alsup, along with Darlene Chambers performed again this year.

Gene Crain and wife, Gayla Earlene performed.

Thanks to the fine back up band - Dino Strunk (lead guitar), Russ Burns (drums) and Buddy Lewis (bass).

Larry Baker and wife, Jean Devore entertained.

A special treat - Miss Jeannie Kendall performed for us. Jeannie is a great promoter of steel guitar and we are very proud of her and husband Mack Watson.

Congratulations to the new 2010 officers for doing a great job on organizing this event, they are off to a great start for sure.

We missed The Stewarts and Newberrys this year --If I counted correctly, their two G2's would have made 18 steels there !!
