The OzarkSGA was formed in 1993, by Dave Musgrave, Tom Brumley, Roger Blevins and Terry Bethel. All four are full time Steel Guitar Players with various backgrounds, but with one thing in common, they all love the steel guitar. All four have worked for Major artists, recorded with them, and traveled with them. Tom Brumley is a member of the International Steel Guitar Hall Of Fame. Roger Blevins has been a mainstay at the Baldknobbers Show in Branson, Mo for over 30 years. Dave Musgrave has traveled extensively and was a member of The Cherokee Cowboys, Ray Price’s fabulous band. Terry Bethel was with Ferlin Husky, Loretta Lynn, and has spent over 25 years with the one and only M-M-M Mel Tillis. In 1993, they decided to form a steel guitar club for the purpose of helping the beginner to the professional player become better players.
The OzarkSGA publishes 4 newsletters a year that include articles about the Steel Guitar, equipment evaluations, tab by Buddy Emmons, Don E. Curtis, Scotty, Terry Bethel, Russ Wever and our members' tab with licks that work for them that they want to pass along to the other members. We sponsor a Steel Guitar Jam, the last Sunday in July with various Steel Guitar Legends. Some legends who have played the Jam are Hal Rugg, John Hughey, Herby Wallace, Doug Jernigan, Ralph Mooney, Don Helms, Tom Brumley, Scotty, Joe Wright and Larry Sasser. We also have the top steel players in the Branson Shows and the surrounding area shows, and there are some great ones here.
